Dr. Rebecca Palmer
Dr. Rebecca Palmer is an associate veterinarian at Bayridge Animal Hospital. For Rebecca, veterinary medicine is a family affair, and both her parents are small animal veterinarians. She grew up living above her parents' practice, and quality time at home often meant covering weekend on-call shifts and scrubbing into surgery.
Originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Rebecca pursued a joint degree in Biology and International Development at the University of Guelph, where she developed an interest in zoonotic disease and global health. These interests, along with some family ties, pulled Rebecca overseas to the UK where she graduated from the University of Glasgow's veterinary medicine program in June 2022. At the University of Glasgow, Rebecca furthered her passion for small animal medicine and was the recipient of the Small Animal Practice award for her year. While Scotland will always be her second home, she is looking forward to being back in Canada for the next chapter.
Drawn to the outdoors and with a love of being on the water, Kingston was an easy choice. She feels fortunate to have joined the equal parts knowledgeable and supportive team at Bayridge Animal Hospital. She looks forward to meeting you and the four-legged members of your family!
In her spare time, Rebecca loves getting outside and exploring local trails - whether running, hiking, or on skis! She has a border collie puppy named Clyde to join her on her adventures.
